Introduction

This course builds upon the principles gained from the CIEH level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace, and provides those in managerial positions with appropriate knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues.

Suitable for

Anyone who has a managerial responsibility for health and safety.

By the end of the training, delegates will be able to:

	Conduct risk assessments.
	Organise and implement a basic safety management programme.
	Understand the requirement to provide and maintain a safe working environment.
	Understand the principles and practice of occupational health and hygiene systems.
	Understand the procedures for development and implementation of safe systems of work.
	Develop techniques for safety management and monitoring.
	Understand the requirements and techniques involved in provision of health and safety training.
	Understand key legal requirements and how they are enforced.

Exam Format

A three-hour examination (representing 60% of the final grade) and two course assignments representing 40% of the final marks.
